B&W Gym is a hardcore gym that first opened in 1978 as a 2000 square foot facility. Since that time it has grown to 9000 square feet with over 100 pieces of equipment 20,000 pounds of weight.

It’s owner is Dennis Brady , a Juvenile Court probation officer and past football and strength coach for Lane Tech. He has been a competitive lifter since 1978, winning many titles and championships including the 1995 world bench press championship and the 1995 and 1996 world masters championships. He is also an international level powerlifting official.

B&W Gym has sponsored over 100 bodybuilding and powerlifting competitions since 1978, including numerous national and international competitions. They were one of the leaders in the beginning of drug free competitions, putting on only drug tested events since 1983.

B&W Gym is more a labor of love then a business. It’s main goal has always been to provide a small, family type of facility for people who don’t want to do the big health club scene. You will find powerlifters, bodybuilders, strong men and many other type of athletes as well as just regular people from the neighborhood. Many of its members have been there for over 20 years, including a few that have been there since its opening.

A small, economical neighborhood gym; that will never change. While we will always be a home to powerlifters, Olympic lifters ,football players, strong men and other athletes, we also want to be a home for anyone who is serious about getting in shape and working out.

We’re definitely not for everybody, but we might be just right for you.
